WOODBRIDGE — Everyone put your hands together for Keith Smolinski, doctor of Biology Rock.
Smolinski, 30, has spent the past three years devising and conducting a grand experiment on the relationship between learning and music. He’s written an album’s worth of songs expressly intended to supplement the biology lessons he teaches at a Fairfield middle school.
The result has been test scores showing an improvement in academic performance when kids learn a song with educational lyrics. Smolinski got a doctoral degree out of the project, to boot.
